Improved Cardiovascular Health from Freshly Milled Flour
Do you know where we can get the highest form of vitamin E? It's in the germ portion of the wheat berry and vitamin E is crucial for heart health. But why is that?
Vitamin E is a potent antioxidant that protects the integrity of every cell lining in our bodies! Something to take note of is the LIFE of the grain IS in the GERM. No wonder why vitamin E protects the integrity of every cell lining! It is literally life-giving...that is wild to think about. This important vitamin improves and gives strength to the heart muscle and capillary walls. It also helps prevent the formation of blood clots! One of the leading causes of death is heart disease and strokes. While mainstream pharmaceuticals may be able to decrease the symptoms of cardiac disease, the side effects are something to frown upon. There is a plethora of research supporting that whole grains are highly beneficial not only for heart health, but in general.
In 1945 Drs., Evan and William Shute of Canada discovered how favorable natural vitamin E was in reversing a few different types of cardiac disease and treating chest pain (this means there is decreased blood flow to the heart). From the 1940's to the 1970's, the Shute brothers helped more than 30,000 patients by giving high doses of vitamin E with great results. These amazing doctors were able to give their patients vitamin E oil by distilling it from the wheat berry itself. While this was becoming known to the medical community, the American Medical Association wouldn't allow the brothers to present their findings at national medical conferences and the post office wouldn't allow the shipments of vitamin E. This tells me the cardiac medical industry wouldn't be able to make much money by prescribing their patients vitamin E oil and is too good for too many purposes (intermittent claudication, angina, prevention of and recovery from heart attacks, heart failure, hypertension, and thrombophlebitis).
In general, eating whole grains (nothing sifted/removed and replaced to fortify) "...substantially lowers total cholesterol, LDL-->bad cholesterol, triglycerides, & insulin levels." (Havard T.H. Chan, n.d., p.1).
In a meta-analysis study in 2016 by G. Zong et al there is a healthy correlation between heart health & eating 3 servings of whole grains daily.
"Van Dam et al noted that Dutch men whose diets did not include whole grains had higher serum cholesterol concentrations than did those who consumed whole grains." (James, A., 2003, para.3).
So I say all this to say that by eating whole grains improves heart health which then decreases heart attacks, strokes and mini strokes (TIA's), and decreases blood clots. I want to end this with Psalm 104:15, "and wine to gladden the heart of man, oil to make his face shine, and BREAD to STRENGTHEN MAN'S HEART." Wow! Our Creator knows what he's doing.
Blessings,
Rosie :)
Ps....please don't judge my citations, LOL. It's been 4 years since I finished my post-grad program!
